It’s St Patrick’s Day on Friday 17th March, the perfect time to put your feet up, relax and sip on a velvety, dark Guinness. Here’s our guide for the perfect home pour.

Step 1: Choose your glass wisely
Choose a large, clean and dry glass. The best glass will be tall, slightly curved and able to hold the entire bottle of beer in one go.

Step 2: The two-part pour
Tilt both glass and bottle towards each other, starting at a 45-degree angle. Start pouring slowly, making sure that the Guinness runs down the inside of the glass, not hitting the bottom directly. Stop pouring once the glass reached about 3/4 full or the white head begins to form. Wait for the head to settle.

Step 3: Top the glass up
Once the head settles, top the remaining part of the glass with Guinness. You are now ready to enjoy your well deserved drink.
